ALEXA'S WEBSITE RANKING SERVICE FINALLY SHUT DOWN

Alexa, a worldwide website measurement platform, has officially closed. On Sunday (1 May), Amazon announced the closure of its subsidiary Alexa.

Alexa has been in operation for the past 25 years. It measures the websites based on the traffic data coming to the website. Based on that, information could be obtained about the number of websites in each country and the number of places in the world. Not only that, it was also providing SEO of any website, analytical data of other competing company's website.

But now Amazon has announced it will close. However, the extension in the browser will provide the service until December 2022, the company said.

'We closed alexa.com on May 1, 2022. After more than two decades of helping you find, reach and convert your digital audience, we plan to close Alexa. Thank you for your research, for your competitive analysis, for keyword research and much more. Even if Alexa.com is closed, your browser extension will continue to provide Alexa traffic rankings until December 2022', the company said in a statement.
